My best friend...

This blog is to pay homage to my best friend in the entire world:
My dog Aiko..

Aiko is now nearly 4 years old. She has made the last 4 years of my life so much more fun and lively playing games and taking her with me on camping trips and such.
I picked her out at 5 weeks, and was able to take her home with me when she was 6 weeks old. She was the runt of the litter and also the most playful of the two female labs unspoken for.

She seems to act like she's a person, and sometimes you wouldn't quite know the difference. I talk to her like she is one, expecting her to give me a response at any moment.
She's always been an adventureous dog, like jumping off the couch before she was old enough to land it, or leading the way down trails when we go hiking.

Although adventureous and curious, she always stays within "eyesite" and obeys virtually every command, unless food is somehow in the equation but we all know how food and dogs work together, a one track mind till they get it!

I rarely have to put her on a leash. I usually only put it on her when families with younger children start to look nervous like Aiko would run off with their child....
It's just a parents nature to be protective like that so I understand.
I know I'm protective with Aiko, I always gotta keep an eye on her, although she behaves sooo very well she still doesn't realize the dangers of automobile traffic.
I don't know how many lives dogs have (compared to a cats' 9), but she definately spent one of them in my neighborhood when she bounced 5 feet or so off of a car bumper. But to my surprize she hopped up wagging her tail running back to me, like what the heck was that!

There will be more to come of the Life and Times of Aiko...
Tune in next time...
